Paris authorities will **t ban "love locks" on bridges, the city's deputy mayor said Thursday.

After part of a railing on the Pont des Arts collapsed, Bru** Julliard an**unced the city was looking for alternative ways for lovers to show their affection (including ribbons). But at a conference Thursday he said attempting to discourage tourists from leaving locks was about as far as authorities would go.

“Handing out fines will fix **thing, we are **t going to station police there 24 hours a day,” Julliard said. However, an increased police presence may still be felt on the bridges — by vendors who sell the locks. Read more...
