Saad, Salman remand extended till 19th
LAHORE: An accountability court judge, Syed Najmul Hasan, on Monday extended judicial remand of PML-N leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique till March 19 in Paragon Housing case. The Khawaja brothers were produced before the court amid tight security as heavy contingents of law enforcement had cordoned off the court premises. In Monday’s hearing, the NAB again failed to submit challanagainst the Khawaja brothers after which the court extended their judicial remand.Talking to the media outside the courtroom after the hearing, Saad complained about the living conditions in the jail. He said two persons are locked in a 10 by 12 cell. I have been deprived of medical facilities. It is not accountability but vindication, he added. Talking about Pakistan India relations, he said there should be peace between the two countries.As per NAB’s claims, Saad Rafique along with his Benamidar wife Ghazala Saad Rafique, brother Salman Rafique in association with Qaiser Amin Butt and Nadeem Zia established a housing project in the name of Air Avenue which was converted into a new housing project namely M/S Paragon City Pvt Limited which is allegedly an illegal society.
