SC rejects bail plea of chicken thief
 

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday dismissed bail plea of a chicken thief, Muhammad Zahid.A division bench of the apex court, comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Qazi Faez Isa, heard the case. During the course of proceedings, Advocate General, Islamabad appeared before the court and apprised that Muhammad Zahid was convicted in four cases. He said that water dispenser, LCDs, computer, jewellery and other tools stolen, were recovered from the suspect. Justice Qazi Faez Isa asked the accused, Muhammad Zahid’s counsel about the profession of the accused.The counsel replied that his client was a labourer. Justice Qazi remarked that only news regarding the theft of chicken was published in the newspapers. “The people often get shocked when they see such news, however, things turn out to be quite different when case opens and details emerge,” he added.He remarked that police had recovered half truck of household items from the accused and asked if the police had enmity with the accused. He asked whether police recovered items after purchasing the same from the market.
