Netflix?s Carmen Sandiego Animated Series Has A Trailer
 

Netflix released the first trailer for their highly anticipated Carmen Sandiego animated series which arrives on January 18. And it looks good.

Where in the world is world-class antiquities thief? Right here, in crime school, apparently. The new animated series based on the popular ’80s and ’90s edutainment show looks to explore the origins of the character, who is voiced by Jane the Virgin‘s Gina Rodriguez, over twenty 22-minute episodes.

Netflix’s brief synopsis of the series is as follows:

“Everybody asks ‘WHERE is Carmen Sandiego?’, but nobody asks ‘WHO is Carmen Sandiego?’ The iconic woman in red returns for new international capers and a peek into her past.”

Over the years, the game has inspired live-action game shows, a cartoon series, books and comics. Netflix hopes to continue producing more content based on the famous thief, including a live-action movie starring Rodriguez as the lead.
