How to manage my first equestrian property!!
 

Hello,I am due to move into my first equestrian property in a few weeks and wanted to get some advice if I may...The field has currently grown to 1ft, I know the taller grass is the less sugar it has.WWYD with it? I have a ride on mower..Also, over the year what do I need to do with this field - I?m hoping to build a calendar ?checklist? from this thread. I?ve been reading up a lot but advice is conflicting in removing/spreading manure, fertilising, harrowing etcIt?s 4 acres for 3 horses - 2 Retired TBs and my 16.1 WB happy hacker...Also, with the grass situation would you put a big round bale in there with a net over for them? They?ve never had this before. The two retirees are out 24/7 and my mare is out 9-4pm and stabled with large haynet plus 2 meals a day currently.Slightly nervous about this change in grass as this field has not been grazed on since 1988!Thanks
