Sarcoid on inner stifle
 

Hi. When I bought my horse it came up on the vetting that he had scar tissue on his inner stifle and what looked like a very flat sarcoid. Vet thought it had probably been lasered or had had Liverpool cream. The owner hadn?t had him very long and didn?t realise. To be fair he had his winter coat and unless you got on your hands and knees and looked right up and pulled the hair apart, you wouldn?t have known. Fast forward two years and it?s grown. A lot. My vet said he could go in for the winter for a week and they would sedate and apply blood root cream every day. Cost approx 800 pounds. He?s not insured for this treatment as the sarcoid was on the vetting. I have the funds. But worried it will make matters worse as my friend had laser and they grew back again. I saw an article about the success or red house hoof field paste being applied on sarcoids. I?ve ordrred a tub and thought I?ve got nothing to lose. It isn?t bleeding and is not effected by tack due to position but I?m becoming obsessed with looking at it. It?s about the size of three 50p pieces joined together. It was flat and small. Now it?s lumpy. Like a piece of cauliflower. Wondered if anyone else had had success with alternative treatments. The prior removal obviously didn?t work as it?s grown back over the past two years.
