The Vivo NEX is a pretty special phone; it's all-screen on the front and its selfie camera pops up from the top of the phone only when needed.*

But there's a way to make this phone even cooler — by making its back fully transparent.*

It's a fiddly business that requires a heat gun as well as lots of careful prying and prodding, but JerryRigEverything has done it, and recorded the entire process on video.*

Removing the phone's back panel and scratching its paint to make it transparent was easy enough. Where it gets tricky, though, is cutting up a piece of the metal-and-plastic cover that obscures the mechanism even when the back panel is removed.* Read more...
