Spectra254 Enters Market with Spectra 1000 Ultraviolet Light Sanitation System

The device is used to bathe a room with high intensity ultraviolet light, in the process killing just about all the pathogens on surfaces and in the air within line of sight of the UV tubes. To prevent people getting exposed to the ionizing radiation, the system has 360° motion sensors to*detect anyone coming across its field of view that will shut off the tubes.

The company claims the housing for the tubes is nearly impossible to accidentally penetrate by bumping into other equipment and the safety features make it practical for a variety of clinical environments.

UL approved parts include the 15 ampere thermal circuit breaker, all electronic ballasts, the built in Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) and the air circulation fan.

Protection Bars prevent accidental breakage of the UV tubes. It is impossible to run the Spectra 1000 into the corner of a table or under a bed and have any parts of that object reach the UV tubes.

Motion Detectors are active as soon as the system is “plugged in”. To test that the motion detectors are working, the operator walks completely around the Spectra 1000 and the YELLOW indicator lights “blink” as the infrared beams are broken.
