LifeBond (Caesarea, Israel) an**unced that it’s releasing a new self-fixating hernia repair mesh. The LifeMesh is designed to eliminate the need for sutures or tacks to stay in place, thereby reducing damage to surrounding soft tissue. Instead the device uses an embedded adhesive that is able to remain attached even in the wet environment of the body.

Once available, the device should be applicable to both inguinal and ventral hernia repairs, as well as for laparoscopic and open surgeries.
