I cant keep them still when posting, as i rise they rise and fall with me. To add to this my horse doesn't want to work into a contact highly likely because he rightly doesn't want his mouth pulled as i flap about. A friend rode him for me recently and said that he is fighting the contact (probably because i'm not making it comfortable for him to do so). To add to that he is head shaking a lot! my friend seemed to thing this was evasion but the fact he is rubbing his nose on his legs and sneezing a lot im not entirely convinced. I am basically after some tips for things i can try to help me keep my hands still. Has anyone ever tried tying string to their D rings? I have read about the whip underneath my thumbs but i think i will just take the whip up and down with me. secondly.... with a head shaker how do you keep your rein contact. I tend to ride with super soft hands that turn into washing lines as he lifts up, pulls down ect. I basically keep them at the length they should be if he was to take the bit forward lol but he never does so they just are slack apart from maybe every 5 strides one might become tort lol. Any help with that would also be great :)
