Cob Brain Overload
 

Anyone else who has a pony that perhaps keeps it all together a little too much sometimes?My little cob went out for his first ever competition on Friday. This was BD dressage with his professional rider. Despite a couple of small spooks he behaved immaculately and got 65.47 for E59.Yesterday I brought in him for a small feed and a brush and all was fine until another horse left the yard. At that point he got very agitated when normallly he wouldn't bat an eyelid. Once I got him moving and out to his field he was fine. Today I wanted to long-rein him out, something we do this quite often, but he just wouldn't settle so I ended up leading from the front and doing figures of eight round trees, halt and rein-back, stepping over logs etc. He settled and relaxed in the end and happily put his head over the hedge into the pub garden to say hello to everyone, and stood stock still while a motorbike went past. Anyone else had a similar experience? I'm sure he is just coming to terms with a big new experience but I was slightly suprised at how upset he was today.
