Early Friday morning, while markets reeled over his tariff announcement and Russia unveiled new missiles designed to attack America, President Trump finally said something that made sense.

Sadly, it was nothing to do with policy. Instead, he addressed who should impersonate him on Saturday Night Live.*

We have known for years that Trump disapproves of Alec Baldwin's lippy, squinty impression of the commander in chief, but it took some brave honesty from head of the United States executive branch to give Lorne Michaels some desperately needed casting advice.*
