Shahbaz should explain spending Rs9000b in nine years: Imran
 

LAHORE: Rejecting the resolution in the Punjab Assembly on clipping of the NAB powers, PTI Chairman Imran Khan slammed Sharifs for ruining institutions for protecting their corruption.
He further said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should explain where did he spend Rs9,000 billion in nine years.
Addressing the PTI parliamentary party meeting of MPAs at a local hotel on Wednesday before the poll on a vacant Senate seat of Punjab, Imran demanded early polls for ensuring strong institutions in the country.
PTI leaders including Jahangir Tareen, MNA Shafqat Mehmood, Fawad Chaudhry, former governor Ch Sarwar, pioneer members of the party including Dr Shahid Siddique Khan, Junaid Razzaq, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Ishtiaq Malik, Naveed Ahmed and others attended the meeting.
Terming Sharifs a ?Mafia?, Imran said rather than questioning them about their misdeeds, the PML-N had elected them as their heads. He said two former prime ministers of Britain including Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair were expelled by their own party but the PML-N chose persons involved in massive corruption as their leaders, adding it was only possible under Nawaz Sharif?s ?monarchy?.
Imran alleged that in a democratic party, no one could become a head for a lifetime but it had been done in the PML-N. Critcising Sharif brothers further, Imran said they started humiliating the institutions who questioned them.
He advised Sharif brothers to get a resolution passed from the Punjab Assembly which could allow them to plunder the national wealth. He alleged that PML-N leadership committed corruption through their front man like Ahad Cheema whereas it also had a similar character named Nadeem Zia.
He said Faisal Subhan, the CEO of Capital Engineering had also confessed that he did all corruption on the instructions of Punjab chief minister and he (Faisal) had gone missing after that. He said there had been enough evidence of corruption against Shahbaz Sharif which would surface once the PML-N was out of power. Imran hoped that PTI would win Senate polls on the basis of its performance.
*Recalling the old days when the PTI was a newly-founded party, its central office was set up in a dental clinic. He said during early days of the party along with only five supporters he toured Shahdara. He praised Yasir Gilani, party ticket holder from PP-137, Shahdara, Shabbir Sial, former party president of Lahore and other workers who supported the party in its struggling phase.
