Sorry sorry sorry.......another biting question
I've been thinking about changing my mare's bit. She is currently in a happy mouth full cheek snaffle. She has excellent breaks out hacking. Stops on voice and seat from a canter. However she has a habit of jig jogging. Now I am a nervous rider and I admit it sets me on edge. I will usually tell her firmly to "walk" and back it up with seat and then reins. However she doesn't really take much notice and I'm not liking the pressure I need to put on her mouth to get her to listen. She goes beautifully in the school. Listens really well to transitions and doesn't try to rush. Its only out hacking. Her back and teeth are all fine. Saddle fits all ok. So my thought is to change her bit so that the message is clear without having to nag her. I don't want anything ridiculous. I was looking at a hanging cheek snaffle, but having looked into it I don't think it sounds right. Any thoughts?
