Zainab murder case: Media should fulfil social responsibilities, says Shahbaz
 

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday, presiding over a meeting on law and order, said creating any ambiguity about the Zainab murder case was tantamount to affecting the investigation and the media should fulfil the social responsibilities keeping in view the sensitive nature of the matter.


He said facts-based investigation must be ensured. ?JIT is working in a professional manner and there should be no room for any mistake or negligence in its investigations,? he said and added that best professional capabilities should be utilised for the probe.

Shahbaz said the JIT should be approached if anyone had clues about the Zainab murder case. ?Asma of Mardan is also the daughter of the nation and we are very much upset over the cruelty meted out with her. The DNA test of Asma has been completed in the forensic lab and we are ready for further cooperation,? he added.

Separately, AJK President Masood Khan called on the chief minister, as they discussed different matters of mutual interest, including the national situation. Shahbaz said incidents of unprovoked firing at the Line of Control and targeting innocent civilians by the Indian Army were highly condemnable.

He said world?s conscience was needed to be awakened about the worst cruelties committed by the Indian armed forces against the unarmed Kashmiris. ?The brutalities of the Indian armed forces cannot deprive the Kashmiris from their right to self-determination for a long period,? he added.

Masood, on the occasion, said the PML-N government had projected the Kashmir issue vigorously at every forum. Meanwhile, the CM, in a condolence message, expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of the wife of former federal minister Ghulam Muhammad Maneka.

Separately, Minister for Local Government Manshaullah Butt, on the chief minister?s directions, gave a cheque of Rs 0.5 million as financial aid to Ijaz Ahmad of Mustafabad. Ijaz, who is ill and his two children are also physically challenged, had earlier appealed for financial aid to Shahbaz.
