Unusual hernia from trauma?
 

Hey, just wondering if anyone has had something similar. Will post photo below... My mare had a lump randomly appear near flanks. Vet believes impact hernia and very unlikely to ever need an operation. We tried to push for operation as the hernia is insured until March but after a second opinion and different vet scanning it, they confirmed it really wouldn?t be in the horses best interest to operate and they?re not concerned at all, although he has never seen one in such a place before. She has no other lumps or bumps. Photo was from last March when first appeared and looking most prominent. Half the time it?s hardly noticeable.Just to add - no idea what the trauma was. Could have strained it in stable as she loves a good roll and leap when she spots me in the morning sometimes or possible kick in field. Vet unsure also.
