Hat liners - how much can you adjust?
 

I've been wondering about this lately as a lot of places make reference to the liners being adjustable within some of the newer hats. I really like the look of the Gatehouse MKII which is much cheaper in the UK than where I live so am thinking of getting one there when I next visit. I have fitted one here and need a 59. *Theoretically* how much can the liners do in terms of adjusting fit? So if I bought a 58 could a liner change make it one size bigger? Or vice versa, if I bought a 60 could a 59 liner make it smaller? I presume it's easier to go down than up...but...?I know the obvious answer is to buy a 59 of course, but this question has been bugging me for ages and I haven't found an answer online as yet!
