It's been a week of wild weather across the*United States: from crushing tornadoes to furious flooding, the calamity was relentless — and it's only Thursday.

If April showers do in fact bring May flowers, this year's flowers are going to be awesome in Alabama and Florida, as much as*19 inches of rain fell over 24 hours in some places on Wednesday,*according to the National Weather Service.

The last day of April also unleashed*torrential rains that*washed out bridges and roads in parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland; sinkholes have been springing up all over the Florida panhandle; and downpours of rain snarled traffic throughout the tri-state area. Read more...
