Cop martyred as man opens fire on police
 

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A policeman was martyred as an unidentified man opened fire on a police team during checking in the limits of Paharpur police precincts on Sunday. The police were checking people at Marwan bridge on a tip-off that a suspected person was travelling in a vehicle in Paharpur area. When the police signalled a vehicle to stop, a man in the vehicle opened fire on them and fled the scene. As a result, Constable Sanaullah received bullet injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police cordoned off the area and started search operation to arrest the culprit.
