Cook Medical is releasing its new Instinct endoscopic hemoclip for stopping bleeding within the GI tract. The delivery mechanism features a 360° rotation and the implant itself has largest jaw for any similar device on the market, helping physicians deal with large lesions at difficult*angles.

The Instinct implant can remain in the body even under MR imaging, as long as the techs take certain precautions, even in 3 Tesla machines.

This device is used for endoscopic clip placement within the gastrointestinal tract for the purpose of endoscopic marking, hemostasis for mucosal/submucosal defects less than 3cm in the upper GI tract, bleeding ulcers, arteries less than 2mm and polyps less than 1.5cm in diameter in the GI tract. This device is **t intended for the repair of GI tract lumenal perforations.

MR image quality may be compromised if the area of interest is within approximately 30 mm of the position of this clip.

A patient with this clip can be scanned safely immediately after placement under the following conditions:

• Static magnetic field of 3.0 Tesla or less
• Maximum spatial magnetic gradient of 1600 Gauss/cm or less
• **rmal operating mode: Maximum MR system reported, whole-body-averaged specific absorption rate (SAR) of 2.0 W/kg for 15 minutes of scanning or less (i.e., per scanning sequence)

There is a potential risk of rebleeding of small arteries due to torque placed on the Instinct™ Endoscopic Hemoclip during MRI. For medical questions, contact your physician.
