Shahbaz, Sana must resign over killing citizens: Imran
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Wednesday called for the resignations of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over the 2014 Model Town incident.
In a tweet, the PTI chief said that after the release of the Justice Ali Najafi Judicial Commission report, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah should immediately resign for killing of Pakistani citizens. He maintained that early elections are the only solution to the issues being faced by democracy. Meanwhile, PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry criticised freqeuntly allowing Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Muhammad Safdar to go abroad while the references against them had entered final phase. He claimed this was causing deep concern among masses. He contended that provinces and political parties? concern over what he called VIP accountability of the Sharifs was justified and added there was no reason in punishing those involved in petty crimes, if those who had looted billions were not to be handcuffed. Our correspondent from Bannu adds: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Wednesday that lack of honest leadership was hurting the country dearly. Delivering a speech on ?leadership, governance and sports, at the University of Science and Technology, Bannu, he said the successive governments had failed to ensure collection of taxes. He said the country?s current expenditures stood at over Rs5 trillion while the total generation from tax collection was just Rs35 billion. ?It is a huge gap. As a result the government takes loans from international lenders to meet its expenditures which resulting in huge foreign loans,? he added. Imran Khan said the PTI would ensure collection of Rs8 trillion on account of taxes if voted to power in the next general election. He said the PTI would focus its energies to promote education as education was a must for the development of any country. ?The country has a lot of potential to be made a welfare state but the incompetent leadership which lacked the vision and ability plunged it into crises and made a mess out of it,? he said. The PTI chief said the youth were the future of the country and talented but needed proper guidance and higher education to prepare a better leadership for the future. Imran Khan said the history showed that the Muslims rulers governed the world for decades and dictated the rule of engagements and relations with other countries but today?s rulers had no courage to face foreign leaders. ?Nawaz Sharif was reading from a piece of paper when he was talking to former US president Barak Obama and US media during his visit to America,? he recalled. He said the politicians in the country were doing politics in the name of Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and Pakhtuns and had divided the nation. The PTI chief said that a true leader united the people and worked selflessly for building a nation. Imran complained that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could not fully implemented its reforms agenda in health, education and other sectors as the federal government did not release its due share in the national resources.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/5MCzoK6vdxc أكثر... |
