As Syria's bloody civil war grinds on, the country is preparing to hold a presidential election in just six weeks.

But in a nation where an Assad has ruled since 1971, the question is obvious: How fair will this election be?

President Bashar al-Assad hasn't yet officially an**unced his candidacy, but experts and members of the Syrian opposition alike expect Assad to run — and win.
