Imran responsible for delay in Orange Line: Shahbaz
LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said the PTI had increased the problems of people of Punjab as the party?s petitioners had impeded the execution of Orange Line project, adding that Imran Khan Niazi was solely responsible for the delay.
Talking to media during his visit to the under-construction Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute, he said the higher judiciary had given stay orders on the project and they were bound to respect the law. ?We have respected law in the past and we will do in the future too.? He said the petitioners from PTI would be answerable in the court of Allah Almighty and of the people. ?This mega public welfare project is being opposed by those who travel in luxury vehicles and whose children are studying in costly schools.? He said, ?These people do not wish that labourers, poor, widows, orphans, and workers of this country travel in good vehicles.? Shahbaz said the politics of sit-ins had pushed the country backwards, but vowed that they would not be distracted by that. He said Tahir-ul-Qadri had started the sit-ins in 2012, but they were afraid of that, adding that the under-construction was a befitting answer to the sit-ins. Shahbaz also held a meeting with the nursing staff recruited and asked them to serve the humanity with dedication and determination. In another meeting, he was briefed on the construction work. The landscaping and horticulture plan was also presented in the meeting. Separately, the chief minister said it was previous governments, not the incumbent, which had allowed expansion in the cement plants and directed the authorities to take immediate measures for restoration of Katas Raj temple. Addressing a meeting, Shahbaz said ?the protection of holy sites of minorities in Pakistan is our responsibility? which would be discharged efficiently. The meeting discussed implementation of the ban on installation of new cement plants and other industries in the area as well as the measures taken for restoration of natural environment in the Salt Range. Shahbaz said the Punjab government had declared the Salt Range a negative area and there was complete ban on installation of new cement plants and expansion in the existing ones.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/CanR2OQ5gp4 أكثر... |
