Tom Preston-Werner, cofounder and president of programming network GitHub, has resigned from the company following an investigation into gender harassment allegations

GitHub launched an independent investigation, which found ** evidence that Preston-Werner and his wife had engaged in "***ual or gender-based harassment or retaliation, or of a ***ist or hostile work environment."

"However, while there may have been ** legal wrongdoing, the investigator did find evidence of mistakes and errors of judgment," Chris Wanstrath, cofounder and CEO of GitHub, wrote in a statement online.
