LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the auspicious day of the arrival of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to this world. In his message on Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the chief minister said Allah Almighty sent the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a benefaction for all the worlds and His life had been termed as a true picture of the Holy Quran having complete guidance and the right way for the Muslims. The pious character and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cover the whole span of life of the human beings.?
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave an exemplary socioeconomic order to the whole world in a short period of time due to His immaculate way of life and taught the golden principles of peace and harmony, brotherhood, respect for the humanity, forgiveness and justice, he said.
?The revered birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gives the best opportunity to the Ummah to follow the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah in the real sense. The Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) teaches us to find peaceful solutions of problems through dialogues.?
Separately, Shahbaz said terrorism and extremism were international issues which required collective efforts in an organized manner, adding that Pakistan-US relations would be further strengthened in the coming days.
He was talking to US Consul General Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau who called on him to discuss different matters of mutual interest, including enhancing cooperation in various sectors.
The US consul general appreciated the chief minister?s performance towards the welfare of the people, saying practical steps had been taken to achieve the goal.
Shahbaz said Pakistan was a peaceful country which had set a new example by rendering immortal sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
On the other hand, the chief minister, in his message on World AIDS Day, stressed the need for an effective awareness campaign to sensitise the people about the precautionary measures.
He said effective measures had been taken for AIDS prevention and the Punjab government was providing free medicines and tests to the patients under the AIDS Control Programme. Moreover, blood screening had also been made compulsory to ensure safe blood transfusion in the province.
Also on Thursday, Anti-Narcotics Force DG Maj Gen Musarrat Nawaz Malik called on Shahbaz, as they reiterated the commitment to continue taking effective steps for drugs control.
