Oil policy takes center stage in Iraq elections

The parliamentary elections promise to be especially fraught with high drama as it is the first since the withdrawal of US military forces in 2011. Therefore, this election will be a litmus test to see if Iraq will remain mired in the ancient antagonisms of the past or if it will progress to a brighter future. As it stands, the picture in Iraq is dismal;
