Tourism activities in Sagada suspended due to Jolina —OCD

"Tourism activities in Sagada, Mountain Province, suspended po lahat iyan kaya kung may mga plano po kayo ay huwag na po kayo tumuloy dahil suspendido na po," said OCD spokesperson Romina Marasigan in a Balita Pilipinas report. She urged the public to just stay in their homes this long weekend, even as she assured that the OCD is prepared for any eventuality. "May panawagan tayo na manatili na lamang po sa kanilang mga tahanan. 'Yung mga local response teams natin ay on standby already, 'yung ating relief supplies ? dahil maaari ngang magkaroon ng evacuation ? naka-standby na rin siya, pati 'yung ating clearing operations equipment," she said. Marasigan also said Binga and Magat dams are set to open its gates on Friday afternoon and that the the following areas will be affected: Cagayan Ramon San Mateo Aurora Cabatuan Luna Reyna Mercedes Burgos Naguilian Gamu Benguet Tinongdan Dalupirip Marasigan assured the public that they are monitoring the situation in the affected areas. "We are coordinating with our local councils to find out kung kamusta na 'yung call natin kasi meron talaga tayong call for evacuation in landslide areas. We are currently monitoring that and gathering information kung kamusta na. Baka kasi ongoing pa kaya di pa sila nakakapagbigay ng tala," she said. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 2 is currently hoisted over Northern Aurora, as well as Isabela, Quirino, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Sur, Benguet, Abra, La Union and Nueva Vizcaya.
