NAB to be more dangerous than articles 62, 63: Fazl
 

ISLAMABAD: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Monday that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) may prove more dangerous than articles 62 and 63 as politicking is being done in the name of campaign against corruption.

Addressing a press conference here, the JUI-F chief said the party has reservations on the formation of NAB, as it was created on the wishes of a dictator to victimise politicians. The Maulana said the JUI-F has decided to fully support the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for the premiership election.

He said his party will play its role effectively for the success of PML-N candidate. He said the JUI-F was already supporting the ruling party to properly handle this challenging situation. He said the JUI-F has firm belief in ideological politics, adding that on adopting clear standing on national political issues, the party was facing threats.

"Our political rivals are trying to defame us, but we will continue our working for fulfilment of our political agenda to strengthen democratic institutions of the country," he said. The Maulana said that unfortunately the opposition parties failed to adopt serious attitude and were engaged in the politics of defaming and abusing others.

Maintaining that ideology-based politics has ended from the country, Fazlur Rehman said they can**t desert their allies in difficult times. He said ** big change is being made in the formation of the cabinet.

Responding to Imran Khan’s threats of chasing them, he said it exposes the PTI chief’s intentions and lambasted him for threatening others for having different political stance. “Do **t scare us with your hollow threats. We have always faced our opponents with courage,” he said.

The Maulana said that international forces were active to create anarchy and de-stabilisation in developing Islamic countries like Pakistan. He said Pakistan has clear stance on the Kashmir issue. “It is our longstanding demand to resolve the issue in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations,” he said.
