ISLAMABAD: Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obiad Chi**y’s documentary ‘A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgivenes’ has been **minated for three Emmy Awards, private TV channels reported on Wednesday.

Directed by Sharmeen, the documentary which deals with ho**ur killings received **minations in three categories: Best Documentary, Outstanding Short Documentary and Outstanding Music and Sound.

Speaking to Geo TV Sharmeen said, "At SOC Films we hope that our work will spark difficult conversations that eventually lead to a change in mindsets. We have a long way to go with ho**ur killings, which continue to impact the lives of thousands of women across the world. Through our work, we will continue to push the envelope aspiring to leave a more humane world for the next generation. My team and I are ho**ured to have received three Emmy **minations and aim to bring the statues home."

Sharmeen Obaid Chi**y has previously won Oscars for ‘Saving Face’ and ‘A Girl in the River’ and an Emmy for ‘Children of Taliban’. Separately, Mohammad Ali Naqvi’s film ‘Among the Believers’ has been **minated in category Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary. The documentary, which has been banned in Pakistan, won two awards at Doc Edge, an international documentary film festival in New Zealand.
