Manitoba sending firefighters to help battle B.C. wildfires

The province an**unced the plan Tuesday, after roughly 14,000 people were ordered to evacuate their homes in Williams Lake, Cache Creek, Alexis Creek, the Kleena Kleene region and West Fraser. A team of 13 firefighters is heading west with 50 pumps. An air-attack ******r is heading to the **rthwest Territories to help with firefighting efforts in that area. The team is expected to leave Manitoba later this week. They will join about 300 firefighters and support staff from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and New Brunswick, who were expected to start arriving Monday to help relieve the pressure on roughly 1,000 B.C. firefighters battling the blazes. There are more than 230 active wildfires being fought as of Tuesday.
