Mom Claps Back at the Pool Manager Who Shamed Her For Breastfeeding

https://media1.popsugar-assets.com/f...1498513720.jpgBrei Theisen was at a local swimming pool with her 14-month-old daughter when the facility's manager approached over her "offensive" behavior. The mom was scolded for breastfeeding her baby girl and told to cover up or be more discreet because she was upsetting other pool patrons.

Instead of remaining silent, Brei decided to share her upsetting experience on Facebook. "Am I supposed to starve my child because someone is uncomfortable with themselves or because they are ***ualizing breastfeeding?" she wrote. " I k**w everyone has a choice how to feed their child and I'm all for a fed baby is a happy baby, but do they tell someone who's bottle feeding to cover up or anything; ** because it's **rmal . . . but since I choose to **t bottle feed I need to do it somewhere else?"

Brei decided to talk to the head manager about the situation but his only suggestion was to breastfeed in bathroom. "He proceeded to say people don't have a problem changing their child's diaper on the changing table so why can't I feed my child there . . . first of all, I do **t change my child in a nasty bathroom and would you eat where you pee and poop?" she wrote. "I'm so unbelievably speechless about the whole situation and **t only is it illegal to tell a breastfeeding mother to cover up or go to the bathroom but to tell me why can't I feed her by a toilet!"

To Brei, this encounter serves as the perfect example of why moms are scared to breastfeed in public. "After it really sunk in, I felt like it shouldn't have happened and I was upset," Brei told Today. "I felt like I did something wrong - but I didn't. It was my legal right to feed my child there just like I would anywhere else."
