Leaks inquiry report finds ** conspiracy against army
Lies of a section of media and some ex-servicemen exposed’
ISLAMABAD: DawnLeaks inquiry committee report completely exposes the lies of a section of media and their favorite team of “well informed” ex-servicemen, who during the last seven months have been freely weaving poiso**us conspiracy theories to create divisions between civil and military leadership. An informed ministerial source confided to The News that the DawnLeaks report did **t find any government conspiracy behind the publication of controversial news report. The source said that as against the general propaganda, the Inquiry Committee also did **t show even a slight hint of suspicion on any official or resident of Prime Minister’s House/****** for “leaking” the story to the concerned newspaper or reporter. “You will be surprised to k**w that a few names which were extraordinarily discussed in the media as the real ‘culprits’ behind the ‘leaked’ story, have **t been mentioned even once in the Committee report,” the source told this correspondent. A frustrated section of mainstream media and some selected “defense experts” during the last seven months have been freely spreading their lies about Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s alleged “conspiracy” to defame Pakistan Army through Leaks. Quoting sources, these elements have also been talking about the alleged Whatsapp messages exchanged between the reporter (who filed the controversial story) and prime minister’s daughter -- Maryium Nawaz. These elements gave the impression that these Whatsapp messages have been recorded by a key intelligence of the country. However, ** such thing is reflected in the Leak Committee report. Besides others, the Inquiry Committee included members from Military Intelligence and the ISI. While some TV anchors and their favorite ex-servicemen hurled all kind of allegations with ** holds barred during TV talkshows, even in print media some speculative reports were published. This dirty role of the media **t only created rift between the civil and military leadership but also led the common men to believe that the media’s lies were true. A speculative and baseless story, published in a daily English newspaper, while referring to a “report” said that the then information minister Pervaiz Rashid had allegedly contacted owner of a leading media group to get the story published but the said newspaper refused to carry the story. In the same story, a top bureaucrat in the PM ****** was named and alleged that he had leaked the minutes of the high level meeting. The Leak inquiry report, however, did **t find any such thing. Neither Pervaiz Rashid was involved in sharing any such information with anyone **r any official of the PM ****** or a resident of the PM House has been found involved in any suspicious activity. The Leaks report also did **t find any conspiracy. Interestingly, after the issue of Leaks settled and following the resolution of recent stand-off between the civilian government and the military establishment on the tweet issue, the same set of media anchors and ex-servicemen started attacking the Pakistan Army leadership. While the Army chief in general received applauds for his commendable role in resolving the civil-military differences, the anarchists (also referred to as “Fasaadis” by some) attacked the military leadership for avoiding confrontation with the government. Ironically, amongst the ordinary souls there are many who are highly influenced by the lies and propaganda of such elements and believe that the military leadership has really compromised on the Leaks issue. However, the inquiry report rejects all such wrong perceptions. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/tEXmBW-tMEc أكثر... |
