SC takes **tice of stage collapse incident
 

Victims say a private TV channel showed disinterest in rescuing the injured, admin escaped from scene and turned off lights; urge registration of case against the channel’s CEO



ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday took **tice of an incident in which two persons were killed and dozens injured when the stage collapsed during the recording of a private TV channel’s programme.

The affected people staged a protest outside the National Press Club complaining that instead of providing medical aid to the injured, most of the management staff escaped from the site and turned off the lights hindering rescue activities.

Taking **tice of the matter, the Chief Justice called a report from the chief commissioner and the IGP Islamabad within 48 hours.

The affected people expressed their determination to pursue the case. They said the ARY management showed ** interest in the treatment of injured persons due to which a woman lost her life.

They held the ARY Chief Executive ******r (CEO) Salman Iqbal responsible for the incident and urged registration of a case against him.
