SARGODHA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday the incumbent PML-N government had taken control of almost all the state institutions except for the Supreme Court, on which people have pinned high hopes.

Addressing a public rally in Sargodha, he said: “Nawaz Sharif is controlling all the national institutions completely, except for the Supreme Court.

“The nation is looking towards the Supreme Court… as its last hope,” he added.

Imran said loadshedding had reached its peak, adding that power outages and scarcity of water were being reported from every part of the country.

He took a jibe at Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif referring to his earlier statement wherein he had said that his name should be changed if he failed to bring loadshedding to an end within six months.

“**w we should name Shahbaz Sharif either ‘Drama Sharif’, or Showbaz Sharif,” said Imran Khan.

The PTI chief said in the past people trusted their leaders unconditionally. Imran said that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah would deliver a speech in English, and people wouldn’t understand a word but they listened to him as they trusted him.

He said according to our Constitution, the leader of the nation should be Sadiq and Ameen.

Imran also pledged to continue his "jihad" (struggle) against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, irrespective of what the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) concluded in the Panama Leaks case.

"Whoever challenges this pharaoh of the time, is doing ibadat (worship), this is what the Almighty Allah has made us for," Khan told the gathering.

"For me, this is **t politics Nawaz Sharif, this is ibadat. To fight against injustice and people like you (PM Sharif)”.

Imran alleged that the prime minister was causing harm to Pakistan for his own interests. "Let me tell you loud and clear: Nawaz Sharif, ** matter what happens, I'm never gonna leave you."

He said Nawaz had taken money from al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in 1989 to bring a **-trust motion against Benazir Bhutto’s government.

The PTI chief also called for the federal government to make the inquiry commission’s report about Dawn Leaks public.

"Dawn Leaks is an issue of Pakistan's national security. It is **t an issue between the government and the army," he asserted. "When Hillary Clinton was accused of breaching national security, she lost the presidential election," he added.

Imran said some people say the Army has backtracked on its stance. “I want to ask them do they want the army to impose martial law?”

The SC, in its April 20 verdict in the Panamagate case, told the premier and his sons to appear before a joint investigation team to fill out the ‘missing links’ about the offshore financial interests.

The PM’s family was named in the Panama Papers: 11.5 million documents, showing how some of the world’s most powerful people have secreted away their money in offshore holdings.

Secondly, Imran said, Nawaz buys loyalties of people and attempts to do the same to him. “Is there anyone whose loyalties Nawaz hasn’t tried to buy?” he asked.

Imran said that the nation needs to k**w what has been ‘settled’, on the Leaks issue. He once again termed the Leaks a conspiracy to malign the Pakistan Army.

“The PM’s media cell created an impression in the wake of the Leaks issue that Nawaz wants to befriend India and is against terrorism but Pakistan Army is against it,” he said. “This is the same tone Indian PM Narendara Modi has been using against Pakistan.”

The controversy, he said, was an international conspiracy to weaken the country as other global enemies, including Israel, continue to plot against its nuclear programme. “The issue was also intended at diverting the world’s attention from the held Kashmir issue.”

While the News Leaks issue was “settled” between the military and the government earlier this week, Imran had expressed his displeasure, saying the issue was about national security, and the nation needed to k**w what was ‘settled’.
