Kipchoge, a 32-year-old Kenyan long-distance runner, came the closest at 2:00:25 — under the world record of 2:02:57. Kipchoge's time won't be the new world record, though, since this run used pacemakers and wasn't eligible.* The runners aimed for a 4:34-minute mile — for all 26.2 miles.* Read more...
