The Met Gala is here again for designers and famous faces to try to pull off their most high-fashion looks— and for the general public to turn them into memes.*

The soiree kicks off this year's Costume Institute exhibit, "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between," celebrating the avant garde Japanese designer.*

The theme gives attendees plenty to work with — Kawakubo life's work has completely reimagined the shape of the human form, dissolved gender lines, and upended traditional funeral and wedding garb.
