This Incredible Woman Gave Birth to Twins 2 Weeks Apart

On Jan. 17, the Texas mom was experiencing horrible pain and decided to drive herself to Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital. Unfortunately, LaTroya's husband was out of town, but she was told that it was time to give birth. However, LaTroya only gave birth to one twin, her daughter Amara, on that day.

Amara was born at just 1 pound, 3 ounces, while her twin brother, Arthur III, stayed in utero. "Initially, we were told that Amara's heart tone could **t be detected, so when I finally delivered her and saw her feet moving I was filled with joy that she was alive, but afraid of what would happen next," LaTroya told People.

For the next two weeks, LaTroya's doctors did everything they could to keep both babies healthy in each of their states. On Jan. 31, Arthur III was born at just 2 pounds, 2 ounces, via C-section.

LaTroya's experience is called a delayed interval twin delivery, a very rare condition where one child is born before the other. Although both Amara and Arthur III are still in the NICU, they both weigh over 5 pounds and have made some amazing improvements. "We are happier than we have ever been and excited about our parenthood journey," LaTroya said. "We are amazed at the miracle we have watched before our eyes."
