LHC CJ tells judges to give daring verdicts even if someone gets angry
LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has said that judges should pro**unce daring decisions, even if someone gets angry.
He was addressing a ceremony organised in ho**ur of lower courts judges, who got promotion. Justice Mansoor said those judges were unfortunate who change their decisions over recommendations, regretting that some verdicts were actually altered. Institutions should be preferred to individuals, he added. He made it clear that ** recommendations should be accepted and called upon all judges to work positively and provide justice to the litigants. The LHC chief justice further said that those judges who wanted to earn money should quit this job and start their own businesses, as the job of judges is to serve people. Justice Mansoor remarked that let it be k**wn that the word fear is **t in the dictionary of a judge. He said a judge should **t speak immoral words in the court. Justice Mansoor told the judges attending the ceremony that a fair inquiry about judges on special duty (OSD) would be completed soon. The LHC chief justice said that a grouping that has been revealed among judges of lower courts was very disappointing and would **t be tolerated at any cost. He also instructed the judges to come to courts like a groom as there should be ** compromise on the uniform.
