The Hamilton soundtrack is making history.*

According to Billboard, the cast recording of Hamilton: An American Musical has surpassed 1 million U.S. album sales.

The soundtrack is only the ninth original cast recording to claim the ho**r. The top selling cast recording, at just shy of five million, is a selection of songs from the original London cast recording of Phantom of the Opera released in 1991, the year Nielson began keeping track.*

The soundtrack, which was released on September 25, 2015, is the only soundtrack with the ho**r released after song streams equivalent to album sales became eligible for inclusion on the charts.* Read more...
