LONDON — Okay, there's a big caveat to this one.

Yes, George R. R. Martin did say in a live journal comment in reference to the Winds of Winter: "I think it will be out this year."

The only problem? He followed that statement with a pretty big "but".

On Tuesday, a commenter on Martin's Live Journal criticised the author for the lack of news regarding the next installment in A Song of Ice and Fire.

Martin posted the following response:
