IHC dismisses plea for FIR against Maulana Aziz
 

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismissed a plea seeking registration of an FIR against Maulana Abdul Aziz and some female students of the Jamia Hafsa.Justice Mohsan Hasan Kayani resumed hearing of a case regarding objectionable statements of Maulana Aziz and his students about the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS).The petitioner said the statements by the former Lal Masjid cleric were unconstitutional and against the integrity of the country. He said the country was already facing war against terrorism and it was dangerous to give statements in favour of organisations like the IS. He said the videos of Maulana Aziz’s statements were available. The petitioner prayed to the court to order registration of an FIR against Maulana Aziz and some female students of the Jamia Hafsa.After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed the plea.
