DG Rangers briefed on security plans for Muharram
 

SUKKUR: The Director-General of Rangers, Major-General Bilal Akbar, on Wednesday held a meeting with Sukkur and Larkana regions police ******rs at the Rangers Headquarters here.

The DIGs of Sukkur and Larkana and the SSPs of respective districts briefed Major-General Bilal Akbar on precautionary measures and contingency security plans for Muharram. The DG Rangers expressed his satisfaction over the security plans and asked the officials to supervise Muharram processions through CCTV cameras and that all the cameras should be in working order.

He also called for high alert at the Sindh-Balochistan and the Punjab-Balochistan borders, where the number of checkpoints was to be doubled. He also called for vigilance of hotels and guest houses to check the presence of any suspicious elements.

The DG Rangers said that the Rangers would assist the police, and there would be an effective information-sharing system between the two forces. Meanwhile, the DG Rangers visited the Rangers Hospital in Sukkur where he inquired after the health of the patients there.
