The Weeknd is back with vengeance in the new music video for his recently released single, "Starboy." Though things are different this time—take, for example, the death of his dreadlocks.*

The video, directed by Grant Singer, shows Abel Tesfaye suffocating his old self and wandering his home with a spring in his step, ready to destroy relics of his past and anything that may be in his way with a glowing cross and some mean robot dance moves.

He will be opening up the Saturday Night Live season with a performance on Oct. 1.*
