Dusted in s**w, dressed in drab clothes and sporting a hedgerow beard that could harbor a coterie of creatures, he looks like he’s been through hell. And, well, he kind of has.

As top neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange, the actor has been in a car crash, lost the use of his vital surgeon’s hands, and roamed the world aimlessly, ending up on the side of Mount Everest trying to jump through a portal.
