People in Taiwan boarded up their houses and braced for the arrival of Typhoon Megi on Tuesday, its third typhoon in two weeks.

Authorities evacuated more than 5,000 people from their homes and hundreds of flights were cancelled.

The Category 3 storm is unusually large and came packing maximum sustained winds of 115 miles per hour (185 km/h).
