Based in part on design principles gleaned from a captured German zeppelin, the British R33 airship was built for use in World War I but was **t finished before the war ended.

The airship, which measured 643 feet long and had a top speed of 62 miles per hour, made its maiden flight on March 6, 1919

It was later reassigned to civilian work, mainly the testing of the physics around different mast mooring techniques.
