Where the Wild Things Are is one of the most beloved children’s books in American literary history (even though the wild rumpus was **t so warmly welcomed when it was first published in 1963).*

Since then, though, Maurice Sendak’s illustrations and story have been adapted in several forms, most recently for the silver screen in 2009, under the direction of Spike Jonze.*
