KARACHI: Shahid Afridi’s controversial statements have cost him the ho**rable farewell, cricket authorities were planning to accord him.

Couple of days ago he denied having requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for giving him a grand farewell, however he mentioned that he had discussed his retirement plans with Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.

While talking to the reporters, the all-rounder shared that players who had served their country for long years including himself, deserved to be given a proper tribute and send-off.

This made the PCB authorities angry and they shelved all the plans.

The PCB was mulling to include star all-rounder in T20 team for West Indies ****** and a party in his hou**r. **w, he would **t be considered for the selection in the squad.

Afridi had already retired from the Test and 50-over formats and stepped down as captain after Pakistan's poor showing in the Asia Cup and World T20 earlier this year.
