Insurance for TV journalists
 

LAHORE: An awareness campaign on the subject “Insurance for TV journalists” was held at the Lahore Press Club Sunday. Campaign was organised by students of Institute of Communication Studies, Punjab University.

It was attended by Lahore Press Club President Shahbaz Mian, Abdul Majeed Sajid, vice president the club, Asim Naseer, president EMRA Lahore and many other journalistic/intellectual personalities.

Students held placards showing misery of TV journalists after getting injured. These also contained plight of killed journalists’ families who are left high and dry after such deaths. It was told by the campaign organisers that a total of 71 journalists have died from 2001-2015 in Pakistan.

A huge quantity of handbills was also distributed on the occasion. Students also lit candles in memory of deceased journalists. The campaign was under auspices of Institute of Communication Studies in which Farrukh Shahbaz, Anum Ejaz, Huma Gulzar and Muhammad Daniyal were prominent amongst students.
