The new PlayStation 4, previously dubbed the PS4 Slim by the public, was officially an**unced by Sony Wednesday.

The PS4 is a smaller, modified version of the original PS4 and is scheduled to replace it in stores starting Sept. 15 for $299.*

The changes and updates

Sony didn't pull anything crazy with their new console. The biggest changes to the console are its slimmer design, a matte finish, the lack of lightbar and the lack of optical port in favor of the standard HDMI port.*
